Do You like book Killer Blonde (2005)?
I do believe I like this one better than book 2. Although I am getting tired of the predictability of knowing that the culprit Jaine catches is not really the murderer and that it really is someone else. The first book, and the second, ok I can see that twist, but knowing it's going to happen every time? I hope the 4th book doesn't have the same twist. It would be nice to get to the end of the book and Jaine catches the right person the first time! Jaine finds herself ghost writing a book for an uppity rich snob in B.H. Here she meets Heidi, the chubby stepdaughter, who becomes the number one suspect when Jaine finds Sue Ellen (uppity snob)floating the dead man's float in the bathtub, the a hairdryer floating next to her.. plugged in. Jaine decides to take on the case to prove Heidi isn't a killer. The ending, although predictable knowing it isn't the first person they arrest for the murder, was a shocker. But it's one of those, "come on now! You can't tell me she didn't know who that was the whole flippin' time??!!" But a great read none the less!

KILLER BLONDE#3 of the Jaine Austen Series------------------------------(Note: This series might be considered "fluff mystery" or "mystery-light." Each book can be read separately and out of order.)I enjoyed this third installment of the series more than the second. While most of the jokes are recycled, there were some new and loveable characters to liven up the mix. In addition, the plot structure is a bit recycled, as well, but since the mystery changes WITH the work assignments that the protagonist accepts, the combination is just enough to keep the story from being stale. I hope that as the author progresses as a writer she will start to branch out a bit. She has struck gold with the idea of a freelance writer who accepts the jobs no one wants--it will be interesting to see if the protagonist is forced to alter her modus operandi with technological changes.

Sometimes you just need to read something that makes you laugh and isn't meant to have deep redeeming value. For that reason, I really like cozy mysteries and this series is one of the best. The main character - Jaine Austen - is funny and real-life and the emails with her parents that are included as a background to each story just make me chuckle. I can also appreciate her love of all foods warm and chocolatey. This is just a fun series to take your mind off things for a couple of hours. Each book is about 200 pages and a quick read. I've finished two and plan to read the rest.
