I know this book is aimed at "young adults" but as a 40 year old, I loved it. I loved the characters and found myself wanting to know what was going to happen. I found this book well written and the characters well developed. I didn't find the ending predictible as some others did but maybe i don't read enough :-)It has definately made me want to read more books by Jessica Shirvington even if I am not her target market. I hold firmly to the belief that Jessica Shirvington is the best kept secret of the publishing world. While One Past Midnight was nowhere near as brilliant as the Embrace series, it was still a beautiful read. And it had the perk of reminding us that all life is to be cherished. Perhaps the ending was a little cliche/predictable, but I'll forgive that.My one disappointment was that, in my opinion, the Embrace series is the best thing our culture teaches about sex. I was hoping to see Jessica Shirvington carry that sacred portrayal through the rest of her writing career, but in One Past Midnight, it was treated so casually. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it was still a bit of a letdown.Other than that, it was fabulous.

Don't let the first few lame chapters bore you away! It turns out to be a pretty fun read.
