About book Jumpalitan Mencari Sang Pangeran (2009)
There are those books that you come across - you realize that you used to think like that at one point of time, and this book has captured your past flow of thoughts beautifully. I have always struggled to understand religion and more importantly - the variety of existing interpretations. The author goes through a similar dilemma, trying to arrive at a more humane, modern understanding of religion. She talks of a life or waiting and balancing who choose the right, albeit tough path. Of course, I do not believe in the fundamentals of religion anymore, so I no longer agree with some of the stuff she says, but it talks of a person engaging with their culture, their religion, their values. The book is a beautiful journey of a person juggling various identities, and looking for a life-partner. It talks of holding your head high and not giving in just because 'time is going by'. It conveys a very important message of self-respect for all muslim women, which they seem to lose on the way in the struggle of virtuosity. I was moved by her vulnerability sometimes and her courage other times , fascinated by her words and the stories she recalled from Al Seera . I felt that this book was like a message or sign for a more changing and turning point in my life , it fit well with me while im still stuck in my journey .. It was the consolation and the shoulder i need at very particular times . A glance of light and hope was lit among the darkness .. Totally loved it . Looking forward to read more

It was a good read. very relatable. A bit wordy at times especially at the end.
