A reprocessed book that lacks imagination but a good page turner..Likes: Just the pace of this book..Dislikes: A simple combination of 'City of Gods', Forrest Gump and some of the most commonly known movies. What's worst is that the author fantasizes that his protagonist actually created "Another Life" for his boss "Philip North" (which is 'Second life' created by Philip Rosedale). That was pretty funny.. what's worse, it's full of tragedy for the protagonist throughout the book and he finally finds a life with 100 million dollars with wife, etc. Apparently his whole life turns around after he changes his name to Johnny (even more absurd and irrelevant)Funny: Wow! You can beta-test and launch a "Second Life" for thousands of people without needing a decent server, etc. Didn't know that..! :PI felt pointless to have read this book, although I appreciate the intent on the moral compass and character definition. Wouldn't recommend this unless they are stuck in the middle of the desert longing for entertainment. This book feels like someone is trying to make you swallow saccharine in the disguise of poison. Excessive self-pitying of the author, his semblance of humility with a lowly pessimistic attitude gets on your nerves so much that you become inured to any of the tragedies happening in his life and just wish to stop his frustrating tale. Filmy plot, contradictory ending, skipping of details where they are most needed, and just blah blah. In one word- Irritating.
