If one removes the modern church jargon and social commentary to focus solely on Bessey's theological proofs, the book would be at least 2/3 thinner, if not more. I appreciate what she is trying to do, but this book isn't quite there theologically (at least for me). If the theology is sound, then there should be no need to hide it behind jargon and/or commentary. I want the "whys," not necessarily a "how-to." Her writing style is a little flowery for my taste which was distracting for me. It could've had a bit more content and, although is not a "scholarly book", could've used a little bit more to back up her ideas. There were a lot of parts/ideas of/in the book that I wish she would've expanded on. And I found the last third of the book somewhat repetitive. BUT her ideas were very interesting and it's made me want to do an exegetical study on the verses in the bible concerning women's roles. :)
It's a charge and a commission and a giant hug. However, that wasn't why I picked this up.
