About book Jesus Es ___.: Un Nuevo Camino Para Ser Genuinamente Humano (2013)
This book was written by my pastor, who is hilarious. It's an interesting take on being a Christian that talks about it on a more relatable level to my 20 year old self. I just met someone who said it was an amazing book and that she goes to that church sometimes too. I am two states away from that church right now. I wanted to write down some quotes from the book here to show how awesome the guy who wrote this is but there are honestly too many to put down. Therefore I will leave you with this. On the acknowledgements page he thanks his children by saying "Thanks Nuggets." I respect Judah's ministry and passion, but it's just not where I'm at. If this book was just supposed to be a look at PART of who Jesus is, then it would have fulfilled its mission. But it is called, 'Jesus is ____.' And the Jesus that Smith portrays definitely exists. Its definitely a part of Jesus. But when I read Revelation (just the first few chapters, not even the bad stuff!), and see how Jesus addresses the church? it doesn't add up with the Jesus I see in 'Jesus Is.' The last chapter though....the last chapter was solid. The last chapter kind of saved the book for me.But Judah's ministry is solid, and his unconventional style has broken through to many--including some of my close friends, so I definitely appreciate him and I hope the Spirit keeps using him!
