While I have liked some of the authors other books I found this one to be bordering on ridiculous. At first I found her snark to be funny but now it is more so neurotic and trivial. In this story she has made it over the devastation of just about losing everything and now moving away from the city into the suburbs and buying a house. For the insanity and paranoia that included a scene of her chasing down people who rang her doorbell into the street I found the book to be ridiculous. She is still the self-entitled spoiled girl that she has always been even after losing everything you would think she would be a bit more humble. Nope. It really lost isn't shine for me. In discussing how lazy and entitled Generation X (thankfully I am not one) is, I had to laugh because she really could have been talking about herself. I think this will be my last book from this author. From the author's note to the epilogue, smart, funny, poignant--it felt like a conversation I was personally having with Jen Lancaster. It was truly brilliant. Having loved Pretty in Plaid and Such a Pretty Fat so much, I wondered how far she could really take such a genre. But she surprised even me, the most critical of book readers with the shortest of attention spans, by writing a book that spoke to me so much on a generational level and a personal level. I want nothing more than to shake her hand and thank her for writing this book.

good book, funny stories. not as awesome as her other books, but a fun read nonetheless.
