I loved this book; it is amazing. I really thought it was interesting how the book pointed out how even people that are different can still be exclusive, like in groups and cliques. Emma faced so many challenges in the book. I really liked how she didn't care how no one liked one of the boys Fred, but instead after everyone saying don't talk to him she still did and the developed a great relationship, and became friends for life. If you like real life like stories read this book! Emma is a unique child that can’t find her place. Until she is invited to the Freke Reunion. Lots of fun goes on at the Freke Fun Reunion! Read to find out. As a teacher, I had fun reading it for the “teacher” aspect out of it! What does this paragraph tell you?“I took out my key ring and unlocked the door. A rush of cold, musty air washed over the sidewalk. So as soon as I turned on the lights, I powered up the space heater. Even though it was late May, it was still a bit chilly outside. We lived less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean, so the coastal breeze was often cool and salty. But lately, the skies had been windier than usual.” A profound statement in the book that I just loved: “’Well, just think about all the knots you dealt with today, ‘ she replied as she nodded her head. ‘Now the next time you have a problem, it will be easier to figure out and solve.’” (Chapter 16-3rd page?)Error in the book! Love when this happens. Chapter 26, page 3? Paragraph starts with, “He peered down at his wife, Aunt Molly, who beamed proudly. Uncle Herman and Aunt Pat sate to their left. The two of them couldn’t have appeared more miserable.” Aunt Pat hadn’t left her cabin. Aunt Rose is married to Uncle Herman! Love the errors! Close reading!Chapter 26, page 5? Proof that Aunt Pat wasn’t seated next to Uncle Herman because she now came out of her tent.First page of chapter 7 was bookmarked for some reason. Hmmmm….Chapter 22, page 4? “All of a sudden, the music in the film began building up, signaling the story was coming to some dramatic climax. I jumped up realizing a lot of time had passed.”
