About book Jane Eyre Laid Bare: The Classic Novel With An Erotic Twist (2012)

What drew me to read the book was the courage Eve Sinclair had in putting herself in place of Charlotte Bronte - supposedly reading between the lines and filling in the places left blank due to societal restraints related of the time.I sincerely hope no one reads this book before reading the original. It steers always from Bronte's themes of a budding first love (in the case of Jane), mystery and inner turmoil (in the case of Mr Rochester) and turns on into a cheap story of sexual fantasy and seeking insatiable physical satisfaction.Yes, there were many limitations that Bronte had to abide by at the time she was writing this, but any sexual encounters should complement the storyline, not deviate from it altogether. OMG, this is not the version of Jane Eyre that we read in English classes in school. Lesbian acts, self pleasuring, nudity and so much more, if Charlotte Bronte knew what Eve Sinclair had done to her novel, she would haunt her in the most awful way.(The poor woman is probably revolving at high speed as it is)I was fascinated enough to keep reading, and each saucy part was a delight, although I must confess there were times when the story seemed to strays into 50 shades territory. That being said, the ending was great, as when Jane finds out the truth about her Mr Rochester, she makes what I believe to be the right decision. Not one for the Jane Eyre purist's. It will only make you cry at what has been done to the novel you love so much.

Not good, it ruins the classic novel and makes it cheap and disgraceful in my opinion.
