About book Jane, Der Fuchs & Ich (2014)

A beautiful little book. This is another quick read but it feels like such a telling story of childhood and the awkward phase moving into adulthood. Reading this book I remembered the sad moments of my own childhood and struggles to make friends and realized how lucky I was that I had a strong family support system -- like the girl in this book -- but also how I typically had at least a few friends. Childhood can be lonely and there's something about the school experience that's cruel and unforgiving and the story deals with it well. I was especially moved by the way her mother tries to help, by making her a dress, but fails to see the scope of the problem. Even a loved child can struggle. Jane, The Fox and Me by Fanny Britt was so confusing. The narrator jumped from her story to the story of Jane Eyre and it was very choppy. Then the narrator mentions something about a fox but only for a short section. but then in every other section of the book the fox keeps being mentioned and I'm not sure why. It doesn't seem to have any major significance. Personally I did not like this book. I thought the writing was a bit redundant. The narrator seems to repeat herself a lot.
