About book It Lives In The Basement (2000)

This story reads like classic horror mixed with a police procedural, but the ending places it firmly in the genre of horror. An unstoppable, murderous creature that lives in the basement. Or maybe everyone's basement. The creepy ambiguity gives a nice thrill to this, though its need to jerk off into a cesspool every full moon seems a little...odd. But when you're dealing with monsters, nothing's off limits, I guess. Probably not something to read if you're living in a house with a basement. Or near a lake. Or...no, actually, you should. Read it and know what's lurking in the places you don't dare look. Maybe it really does live in your basement and you'll be next. The cover of this book caught my interest, the first time I saw it as did the title. I am a huge Stephen King fan and I love horror. Who can resist picking up a book called ‘It lived in the basement’. And I wasn’t disappointed. Though the story is short, it is engrossing. It has been well written and keeps your attention throughout. For the best experience, switch off the lights, get under the blanket and read it with a flashlight. Sahara Foley has an exceptional style of writing and I hope to read more horror stories from this talented author.
