Island Fever by Shelli Stevens is a cute summer read. It is light hearted and romantic along with some comedy. Melanie and Piper have come to Hawaii to scratch some things off their bucket list. They had a deal with each other. One, they would have fun. Two, they would get a great tan. Three, they would have a fling to remember. Melanie has been working on her bucket list with parasailing; zip lining, snorkeling, etc. and working on her great tan and having fun. Piper has been working on her fling to remember. Melanie is just about to give up on the fling as it just isn’t her style. Piper has other ideas and eggs Melanie to follow a cute surfer who crossed their path. Melanie decides to give it a whirl and follows him only to fall before reaching him. He ignores her but another man picks her up. He is Asher and he is a doctor. He talks to Melanie and learns her story. He challenges her to have a fling with him. Can Melanie do this without getting involved with him? If she does get involved, what can come of it? He is in Hawaii and she will be in Seattle. Just who is Asher? I thought this was a very sweet tale and enjoyed it very much.After college graduation Melanie and her best friend head to Hawaii. They call this vacation "Operation Get Leid" and Melanie is not the best at the art of seduction.When she takes a spill and twists her ankle, a sexy doctor on his residency comes to her rescue. Will this be a fling to remember or could the lines between fling and forever love be blurring?I love a quick read occasionally and this one hit the spot! I highly recommend this book.
