4-4.5 stars. This is a pretty hot and sweet story about Lily and Brandon. Lily lost her dad at age 15 and is cruising through life without getting close to other males because she can't bear another loss of someone important. Brandon bumps into her on campus and there's an immediate connection. Brandon embodies confidence, possessiveness, compassion and the capacity to love. He seems a little bossy at first but it becomes apparent that he is very serious about getting to know Lily so he pursues her. Lily isn't used to this because she has no real experience with relationships so she averts his advances but once they do get to know each other, Lily does start to open up and to express herself as honestly as possible for her comfort level. Watching Lily become more beautiful and confident under Brandon's attention is what allows her to live life more fully. Brandon has many sides to him, all of which he adapts to the current situation regarding Lily and helps her explore her sexuality and boost her overall self-esteem. I loved Brandon, he wasn't a man-whore just because he was a rich, sexy and handsome businessman, he had a genuine heart and there wasn't really any ambiguity about him regarding his feelings. He took care of Lily and prioritized her. Lily hit the jackpot with Brandon. There is some drama in the book, but not excessive because neither of their personalities are overly dramatic to begin with so it's appropriate for them. I liked that the male character didn't have some kind of troubled past and that despite Lily's hang-ups, she still had enough maturity in her to face her issues on a realistic level without making things more long and drawn out. I'm interested to see if the next book will actually be more dramatic since Jess is a bit more wild. I'm intrigued to know how this book got so many 5* reviews. I really don't think I can say this captured my imagination because very little happened!Yes it was a very sweet insta-romance. Obviously she is a virgin who knows how to deep throat from the off. And he is the 100% good guy who can't do a thing wrong.I can't even say the book was well edited etc because there were quite a few errors that needed picking up, maybe run this through an Editor rather than just spell check.For an over-the-top cheesy, corny sweet romance, this will be right up your street. It wasn't for me as I like a bit more substance to my books and a lot more depth to my characters.
