Harkins weaves a wonderful love story, with believable characters who stay true to themselves throughout. I related to Mattie almost immediately and enjoyed watching her fall in love. When it all fell apart, I even more thoroughly enjoyed watching her rebuild her life as a strong woman who was confident in who she is and who she isn't. When the time comes to make a choice, she makes the one true to her character (even though it's not necessarily the one readers want her to make!).I couldn't put this book down and loved the easy language and perspective shifts from the different main characters. Awesome read! Team Cade!I had trouble getting into this book in the beginning. It wasn't the story, it's a wonderful love story. I just haven't read very many books written in present tense and that took some getting used to. Once I got beyond that, I devoured this book. It's a great read with really fun characters and a villain you'll love to hate. I enjoyed the sweet romance and the way MK brought the characters together...twice. I don't want to add much detail to avoid spoilers, but I will tell you, through the first 1/2 of the book, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. When it did, oh boy did things change.I thought Mattie's character was very real and very likeable. I always questioned Jeremy a bit, only because he seemed a little too perfect. And as perfect as Cade was, I felt comfortable with him right away. Intentional is the perfect summer beach read. You'll fall in love more than once and in the end, you'll beg for more.
