Instead of writing about her whole life, the focus of this book is Vardalos's path to motherhood. And there's plenty to write about. After struggling with infertility for years, Vardalos and her husband adopted a toddler through the foster care system, and ever since Vardalos has been a passionate advocate for adoption.Vardalos can write, no ghostwriter needed. Happy, heart-wrenching, joyful, funny (of course), and even terrifying in turns, Vardalos shares her story in hopes that it will help others who find their path to parenthood to be rocky or the adoption process overwhelming. She even includes a adoption guide in the back, answering common questions and sharing reasuorces.Recommended for fans of celebrity bios, and those curious about adoption. Competitive mommy bloggers need not apply. I love Nia Vardalos, not only because she is Greek but because she has a way of telling stories in a relatable and heartwarmingly funny way. This book reads part memoir and part guide on how Nia and her husband, Ian, went from struggling to get pregnant through IVF to making the decision to adopt their daughter. Nia describes in her own amazing way how she went through the foster adoption process and how her daughter, Ilaria, was brought in to their lives and integrated into their family. It was truly a wonderful and illustrative novel of Nia's successful journey into motherhood.
