wow.... First and foremost, I think I should say that I bought this book based solely on the cover because I thought it looked amazing and it was in a discount bookstore. Originally I thought it was going to sit on my shelf unread, however I'm glad I decided to pick it up.As far as $5 books go this knocked it out of the park. To me this book felt similar to a Dan Brown novel, but better written, not as repetitive but with surprisingly graphic accounts of violence. The characters felt well rounded, relatable and very human, and considering this is the fourth book they've been in, and this is the first one I've personally read I didn't feel out of the loop regarding their backgrounds. The descriptions of sexual and physical violence weren't at all out of context and they served the story well, which is important. They weren't gratuitous at all either, which is a risk authors run when describing sexual violence. One minor thing I must mention, I felt as though the tension seemed to die off a bit in parts of the novel and that the author remedied this simply by mentioning the previously established violent scenes. All in all. If I'm being honest, it wasn't the best book I've read so far this year but I still enjoyed it. It was a different pace from what I usually read so that in itself made it fun.
