Romantic short by Bella Andre. This book was a Amazon freebie once, but I got mine from the library Wilbor digital collection. Candy is what Callie does best. She's super sweet and has a steady clientele that come in as much to see her as they come for her delectable truffles. But, her rent has tripled and her profit margin is strained, to put it mildly. Enter Derek, the Candy King. He has an Mba in food retail and makes a living consulting candy stores. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Callie doesn't recognize Derek as her new consulant when she meets and ultimately has sex with him at a wedding she is catering the night before their professional partnership begins. Full of both romance and sex, Bella Andre fans will enjoy this short. Ok now honestly I did like the book but then it takes a lot for me to feel otherwise. The characters weren't really well developed. I didn't feel like I knew much about them. The sex was hot but the conflict was just, I don't know, forced? Like the author knew she had to find something to go wrong (or what's the point if they just meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after?) so she made something up which was just something that seemed trivial to me and blown out of proportion. I think the story had a lot of potential to be really good but it just wasn't developed into it. I gave it 4 stars only because it was short and it have potential and because I'm a generous sort. If it was longer and still so undeveloped, I would have rated it lower but since it wasn't that much of an investment, it got 4.
