I was recommended this book by the librarian from the local library. To be honest i was a bit sceptical at first. I had hear it was a good book but i wasnt sure for what I had been told wether it would be a good book for me.I wasnt disappointed. I basically read it all in 2 sittings. A very good story with chapters from the characters basically all telling the story of what happened. Ive got tot say I really enjoyed and hope that there are other books like this from the author. Highly recommended! Ambientato tra Irlanda e Francia, il romanzo ricostruisce alcuni avvenimenti che segnano le vite dei suoi protagonisti dagli anni ’60 e i giorni nostri. “Ricostruisce” più che “ripercorre”: il mistero oggetto del titolo è soprattutto una rete di segreti, svelati attraverso una narrazione a incastro che alterna le voci di un nutrito gruppo di personaggi. Cattolicità irlandese, preti, blanda sessuofobia, segreti di gioventù; gli elementi sono questi, e non si va al di là del meccanismo a orologeria di un intreccio che tiene viva l’attenzione del lettore, ma non apre alcuna porta immaginativa o riflessiva. Rimane purtroppo fine a sé stesso, e sterile.
