The tough and sassy Kee made sure to build a wall around her heart to protect her from the disappointments of life. But after the rescue of a young innocent girl, this tough as bullets girl’s armor somewhat cracks and absolutely stunning, sexy and totally military gorgeous Archibald demands entry into her guarded heart. What follows is a explosive read, and combined with the dangers of the mission it simply took my breath away! I felt the emotion of every page that the author tried to convey through mere words. This was book two in the series and just like book one, the building tensions of a relationship forming between two soldiers amidst the chaos and confusion of war you will be just as hooked as I was.The author gave me just enough action to get me captivated and even the most “strictly contemporary romance fan” that never even considers reading military related books would be pleasantly surprised and just like me will be going “M.L. Buchman give us more please!”Some of the scenes are very vivid and all characters created by this talented author are a action packed force to be reckoned with. This is the second book in the series, and it's amazing, as was the first. The characters surprised me for some reason- a calm, intelligent soldier and a hot headed, chip on her shoulder gal who trusts no one but herself. Add in an orphan, a ton of action, political intrigue, and some amazing sexual tension and I was hooked. M.L. Buchman is one of my new favorite authors. Before I read any romance at all, I read book hand-me-downs from my father. I've read most of Tom Clancy's early stories, and many, many spy, crime, and political thrillers because I was broke and when you love reading and are handed a grocery sack full of paperbacks-- you read them all. I didn't start reading romance until about 2009. When I'm reading M.L. Buchman, I feel as if I'm reading those type of stories, but with the added goodness of romance. It's a wonderful mix, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Do You like book I Own The Dawn (2012)?
Not quite as good as the first book in the series, but a bit more believable.
