About book I Love You And Im Leaving You Anyway (2000)

read this after "why you're not married yet" and should have read this first. this is a very interesting memoir, writing is accessible, fascinating story. that being said, I now have even less faith in "why you're not married", which had some good insight (more about how you treat yourself than how you treat a partner), but the fact that McMillan is presenting herself as a relationship guru is a challenge. I Love You.. is very revealing about one woman's relationship with her father than all of the men in her life. I didn't ever feel that she really got all the issues, let alone resolved them, plus she totally ignored the fact that she has no relationship with her mother. Halfway Through: Good book, but it doesn't keep my attention. Finished: The story definitely changed and got better by the end of the book. I was much more engaged and couldn't wait to finish it. Tracy learns so much about herself and about men that I wonder how I don't think about her revelations at every moment. It's all things I've realized over the years, but never was able to put into words. A great one read book, I don't think I would pick it up again though.
