This was totally frickin' amazing. It went to some dark places. but always managed to stay entertaining.Vince is a thoughtful narrator. He cares about the people around him, about the show he is star of, and when he falls for Alex, it is irrevocable and forever.There was a section when Alex talks about his dislike of pornography which leads to him reading some fanfic that is graphic and he rejects it, saying '(sex) is private. It shouldn't be ... displayed like that', and I realised then that we were being given very few details ourselves about their sex life. I like it that the author backed up her stance in her own novel.I loved that I cared just as much about James & Matt as Vince & Alex. I even cried at some of the things that happened to them on the show.Well written, absorbing and poignant. Highly recommended. What a beautiful, moving, sweet and also heartbreaking book this is. The struggle that Alex goes through trying to hide his sexuality and all the absolutely heartbreaking reasons behind this. The way vincent is happy to go back and hide in the closet that he never really was in in the first place just to keep Alex, and his job, even though this is costing him his best friend...The relationship between these two men is beautiful to read. To watch grow. It is heartbreaking when things fall apart and you can't help but just sit on the edge of your seat hoping they can work it all out again and be together as they are meant to. And knowing that this could be real life. That these things are still happening out there in day to day living. People having to hide who they are, who they love; who they truly want to be with makes it all the more poignant!I had to keep reading until it was finished. And then I wanted more! Because Alex and Vince deserve it all.
