What a waste of time. If I could give this book NO stars, I surely would. From the very 1st paragraph, it was glaringly obvious that Herron was going to follow contemporary romance boilerplate #1. Predictable does not begin to describe this book. Fortunately, it only took about a few hours to read because . . . like a 4-car pileup in the highway, I just couldn't look away.Behold the ridiculous: ~27 and biological clock is ticking loudly. Get real! Last I checked, that is no where near the end of a healthy female's fertility range. ~Panic attacks due to fear of commitment.~set in one of the best cities in the South (even if it's a Southern city no longer) and not one landmark is mentioned. And now to my biggest complaint: Several times it's mentioned that the female "lead" underwent several surgeries and speech therapy for a congenital hearing impairment. However, she wears only one hearing aid and apparently has no lingering impact from being deaf (as is implied) for at least the 1st 5 years of life and significantly enough hearing impaired to attend a school for the deaf until High School. And, to make matters worse, the author stigmatizes the need for surgery and speech therapy. I am a school based SLP and have worked with HI children who are both aided and unaided learning oral speech. Herron's attitude toward hearing impairment and speech therapy makes me take great umbrage. Needless to say, I shall not read ANY of her other books. I got this FREE from Amazon. Another DNF. I thought I'll be laughing most of the book because the title itself promises that much. At first I found the characters funny but midway they are starting to irritate to me like nail scratching a chalkboard.Jenna was a 27 business woman panicking that she's childless and unmarried at her age. Again at first it was cute reading her go through a series of bad dates but as it moves forward I want to reach out and shake her! You got something going on for you, girl, it's not the end of the world if you don't find a quality guy just yet. Sheesh! Zachary West, the playboy who is a commitment phobe. He grated on my nerves from the start. His reaction even to the slightest hint of a relationship sets him to cold sweats, nervous ticks, etc. Who does that? At first glance it's all amusing but when these comments and reactions kept on repeating themselves to no end, it gets old, boring and definitely annoying. I can't complain much coz I got it free but I was at least expecting to be set into fits of laughter, unfortunately this failed to do that for me. I hope you'll enjoy this better than I did.

Easy read. Only read it because it was a free kindle e-book. Quick story, predictable.

Basic romance novel completely lacking in depth. At least, it was mercifully short.
