If you have not read Marianne Morea be sure to add her to your list as this author truly cares/develops her characters and puts the necessary research into the areas she brings to life in her books. I have spent the past few days re-reading the series and I am just as in love as before! Hunter's Blood is an engaging read and a great start to the Cursed by Blood seriesLily Saburi and Terry Hess have been best friends all their lives and when Lily lost her parents it was Tess's parent who took her in, loved her unconditionally and raised her as their own. Lily's life though is once again stuck by tragedy when Tess is brutally attacked and killed while on a routine investigation with Lily for the police. Sean Leighton has been chosen to lead the Brethren of Weres. In accepting his role and responsibilities he is granted the powers to shift into any form allowing him to better understand all those he protects. Some of the Weres are turning feral including Sean's brother and he must find the reason and stop it before it destroys them all.Lily knows what killed Tess and she wants revenge for her friend so each night she suits up to track and kill the supernatural's that prey on the humans determined to find the one she is looking for. When confronted with a feral Were and mortally injured Lily is rescued by Sean who himself is out tracking his brother, the same Were that is now attacking Lily. Lily is about to face a whole new reality and she will need to trust Sean if she is to get through it but how is that possible when he is everything her hatred has been based on!! Hunter's Blood was engaging to read it has a great storyline and characters you believe in. I look forward to reading more of this series and seeing in what direction Ms Morea chooses to take her characters and storyline.
