Somehow I thought this was a fashion book (didn't pay attention to the subtitle), so was startled to find it's an entire book about hair, skin, and makeup. Uh, wow. It reminds me that there are people (actresses, celebrities) whose full-time job is looking good. The rest of us get by on what we have time and money for, plus whatever God gave us naturally. So the book was a useful reminder of my priorities. Or in this case, the lack of them. It is not that I don't at all care, I just don't care as much as Lustig does. And given my non-beauty-centric profession, I don't have to. Eh, just eh. A few useful tips are I try to become a little more polished for my job, but, seemed like a plug for a lot of different products. The format went like this: "These are the products I use, this is how much they cost, if you want to save a little money, here are some more recommendations." There were a few guides (like blow drying your hair, etc) that were useful since someone like me who needs all the help they can get can benefit from this type of tutorial, but other than that, I'm definitely glad I borrowed from the library rather than purchased. Although, let's be honest, I borrow every book from the library.
