About book How They Croaked: The Awful Ends Of The Awfully Famous (2011)
I personally loved How They Croaked. In this book the author tells you all the gross, grimy, and graphic details of these people's deaths. A nice thing about this book, is that most of the people in this book are very well known. You'll never be left thinking "Who was that guy?" Even if you don't know some of these people, you won't have anything to worry about, because the author does a very good job of explaining who these people are, and what happened. She also does a good job of keeping things interesting by using lots of synonyms for death, and also makes sure things don't get too challenging by using simpler sentences, and keeping everything short and to the point. However, there is one thing that I wish from this book. That is for this book to be longer. This book was so good, that when it ended my heart sunk, and I hope she starts making longer books. Thank you to Georgia Bragg, and enjoy reading this book. This book was intriguing, horrifying, and one of a kind. I couldn't put this book down. One of the things usually left out of children's books is dying. Not death, characters are dead all the time, but the miserable, painful, agonizing bit of dying is usually glossed over. But kids like the gross, the agonizing, the unbelievable "who thought that was a good idea?" craziness of other times and cultures. This book is great for reluctant readers. The short paragraphs and pictures make it interesting for their eyes.Warnings:Violence: lots of gore
