Que dire. D'un point de vue personnel, je n'ai pas accroché à l'écriture, au style (garder le langage caricatural de paysans locaux, ce qui aurait été une volonté de l'auteur semble-t-il, est à mon sens une idée affligeante,) mais l'auteur réussi pourtant son pari : on tourne les pages sans ralentir le rythme de la lecture. En revanche on baisse sa garde devant les couple Ella et Tike. J'ai rarement vu des héros si attachants. Humains. La postface de Johnny Depp et de Douglas Brinkley n'est en revanche pas très passionnante. car elle n'apporte pas grand chose à l'analyse du texte. Mais c'est là un avis personnel. Ce ne sera pas, pour moi, le livre le plus marquant de l'année. Titre en français : La Maison de terre Echoing so many others- important and grounding (...ha) subject, but it was so difficult to get past the style. I'd much rather hear Woody's songs than try to get through that dialogue, which droned on most of the time. At first I cited cultural differences as the reason for my aversion, but I think maybe his words don't quite translate into a narrative. I resisted the very strong urge to give up on it after the verbose yet flat sex scene in the beginning, but gained very little from doing so.

Decent effort. This was a good novella that dragged on about 50 pages too long.
