About book Hotel K: The Shocking Inside Story Of Bali's Most Notorious Jail (2009)
As I read page by page, I started getting familiar with all of the mention names. I started to picture how they look and the condition in Kerobokan.Even so this is not a fiction book, but I still have my favorite character in it. Ruggiero. He seems so nice and friendly, I would like to make friend with him despite his crime.As I was approaching the end, I had a feeling of not to let the book end. (Sorry, I don't have suitable words to describe the feeling.) I also wanted to all the mention names in the book to have a better ending, especially the death row mates.As a writer, Kathryn Bonella captured the story in a very neat way and successfully brought me into the real situation of the story.Maybe some day I'll go to Bali and visit Hotel K myself to relive the moments. Read this immediately after Snowing in Bali. Same ideas, a broader perspective. Again, scares the pants off me travelling in Bali where you just never know what money-hungry officials might do to you strictly for financial gain. But if you don't buy yourself out quickly enough, you could rot away in rat and HIV infested cells, get raped or beaten daily, or face execution by line of fire. No one can help you. Every tourist's nightmare. A great read to increase awareness.
