This book was a first for me by this author. It was a fun little roller coaster ride too. I loved Molly's character. She was different, she was impulsive and she was just what the title implies a HOT MESS! Poor Molly was treated like dirt by her country club family, I really felt for her. I really wanted to slap the shit out of her mom and sister. I loved the quirkiness of her personality, I loved that she was't virginal, I loved that she set out on her own path in life. Now the male leads. I can't say I was a fan of either Brantley or Reid. I thought they were both a tad douchey. Molly lands her dream job and ends up going on tour with Black Laden, Reid's band, and Political Downfall, Brantley's band. In close quarters with these rock stars she ends up attracted to both of them. I don't want to give anything away, because I hate spoilers, you'll have to buy the book and see who she ends up with for yourself. All in all it was a sexy, funny book. But had a big cliffy ending. Hot Southern Mess is a brilliant name for this book. We have Molly, poor girl has been ridiculed by her mother and younger sister most of her life. Molly has had to live her life under a microscope of country clubs, pageants and making sure to dress and talk a certain way. After a horrid experience at her younger sister's wedding, Molly decides to leave her southern town and head out to experience life. She books a one-way ticket to Seattle. She soon lands a job in the music industry as a PA to a manger and finds herself quickly on tour with one of the hottest rock bands around. What Molly also finds is an attraction to 2 men, one she believes could give her that safe happy life and the other gives her shockwaves down to her soul. She will get to know them both and becomes more drawn to one. There are startling revelation and soon Molly slowly starts to lose the person she once was into someone who she and others can't recognize. Molly's life starts spinning more out of control and then she is seeking to get away from all of her problems with someone from her past. But someone from her present is in love with her and lays it all out for her to grab and take. Molly's world is insane, she is definitely one HOT MESS!! T.A Hardenbrook has written a book filled with crafty wittiness, snarky comeback, and oh shit did she just do that moments. Each chapter has a clever title with great content to follow. I loved every second of each line in this book. The books ends with an oh crap and a swoony text that will make your heart sigh. Yes this is part of a series, but DO NOT let that stop you. This book you will want to read. It is much different than any other book out there. I loved it and I promise you will too.
