About book Homeworld (2013)

Summary: Another great fast moving space opera military SF. Really good story with interesting characters and aliens but rather far fetched. Still great story, lots of action, highly recommendedPlotline: The sequence of events is well thought out with lots of action.Premise: Interesting universe, I like the FTL etcWriting: Simple, descriptive, engagingEnding: is the end then ?Pace: Never a dull moment (fast and furious) I've been looking for a good Mil Scifi for a while now and I thought this would be it. It has a lot of good aspects still. The final battle of this book threw logic and physics out the window and into the abyss. There may be spoilers from here.I really didn't see some of it coming. I know it was entitled homeworld but I thought ok the Drasin find Earth but they get repelled the Odyssey packs enough dirty bombs and sneaks into the Hive Wam Bam we go home and earth makes an offensive against the triggerman in book four. thats how I thought it would go. Evan Currie throws a crazy Ivan and destroys earth more exciting on paper but execution was threw logic and physics out the window. These are my biggest annoyancesFirst, Drasin are supposed to have ships that could destroy Odyssey and Enterprise and all earth ships with one hit but out of the two thousand plus ships not one Drasin even managed a glancing blow at either earth ship? Its like the Drasin just floated their dead in space while Weston and Crew just picked them off. While the T cannon was believable in a scifi level the fact that a thousand ships couldn't destroy a single ship that wave itself around thats just pushing it.While I love how the Demigod's commander reacted when Earth was knocking the Drasin around. It was just stupid when You really thought about it.Second the Priminae. The Priminae saw 2000+ ships headed for their ally and did nothing. The least they could have done was throw their weight around. Send their remaining forces, everyship they can get, to flank the Drasin, or help the evacuees or they could investigate the Hive. Its Highly likely that its probably empty now why not send your entire fleet to hit it with everything you've got? A successful strike on the hive would further delay any Drasin attempts at rebuilding their forces for a swarm on Ranquil. The Priminae's stupidity rankles me further because of the fact that they never went after the Triggermen during the first battle of Sol. The Priminae saw the two Triggermen ships why not give chase or call Fleet command to help catch them and then we can get some answers. The only consolation I have is the thought that when the drones rebelled they turned on the Triggermen Homeworld too. There are a lot of other aspects that may be awesome in the moment but lack anything believable when you think about it.
