Whew! Seldom has there been a book where I have cried on and off throughout the entire book but..........................this was a first. Some may think it's a sappy kind of book but I really enjoyed reading it, sappy or not. I spent most of the book wanting the husband to get hit by a bus head on but that didn't happen. The author really did her research and the story was pretty realistic to me, but I've never been in the military nor fought in the Middle East so I couldn't proclaim authenticity. It was real enough for me. Hannah did a fine job; it was almost a tribute to anyone serving in the military. Wife, mother of two girls and Black Hawk helicopter is deployed to Iraq. Kristin Hannah tells the story of the difficulties of the situation and how love perseveres for the wife, husband, mother-in-law, 12 and 4 year old daughters and a best friend. This story is very eye-opening for a civilian. I found it to be a page-turner and finished it very quickly. God bless our soldiers AND their families.
Do You like book Home Front (2012)?
It was interesting, but I thought way too long. So many different issues, meat her preachy.
