This is the third installment in the excellent H.I.V.E. series, & I'm assuming that other fans, like me, are feeling strangely invested in & fond of this group of future villains & bad-guys-in-training. It's a weird concept to be on the bad guys' side, but I think at this point, it's becoming obvious that our cast of characters, while calling themselves villains, aren't really the *actual* bad guys here. Otto Malpense & company are changing things in their lives, & their elite boarding school, all for the better - indeed, the entire adventure narrated in this volume happens because of friendship & loyalty, neither of which seem like particularly evil traits.Number One has been increasingly evil-plus since the last book, & now it seems that he might be behind the mysterious shadow organization who has kidnapped H.I.V.E.'s headmaster, Dr. Nero. His second-in-command, Raven, is determined to perform a rescue, but it's going to be highly difficult, involving such feats as breaking into England's MI6. She's obviously going to need some backup. It's a good thing she's on good terms with Alpha stream students Otto, Wing, Laura, & Shelby, not to mention Franz & Nigel. Everyone's in for quite a ride. Just as strong as the first two, & will definitely appeal to readers of such series as Anthony Horowitz's "Alex Rider" books. I am currently reading H.I.V.E. Escape Velocity by Mark Walden. I am at the part where Nero is trapped in a capsule and Raven tries to help him. The character I'm going to talk about is Raven. When Raven tries to help Nero get out of the capsule I would have done the opposite and pretend nothing happened Nero, ignore the situation, and stay safe.I think that Raven is brave, strong, and cares about Nero. Raven reminds me of a friend one day I fell off my bike and my friend help just like Raven helped Nero.Raven is a worried and protective person first she tells Nero that if Gregori is trustworthy and after she trust Gregori she kept close eye out for danger. Raven also doesn't give up like when she tries to save Nero again I also don't give up like once I wanted to win a prize in a carnival I kept on trying until I got it. I think think that you sould read this book if you like action pack.
