About book Highschool Of The Dead #1 (2012)

I am amazed by how little fan service there is. Don't get me wrong, it's still there. Just not as far as the anime took it. It makes the manga better, but just somehow not as good as the (dubbed) anime. The anime had a certain fun charm to it, while this takes itself way too seriously. I came here for boobs, blood, and zombies, which I got. But then they start throwing all this serious shit at you, which makes the question: Do you want this to be a fun time or be very serious? You can't take things very serious when you keep getting boobs in your face. I liked the art and character designs, all were very nice (at times.) I recommend this for zombie and manga fans, just don't go in this thinking it's going to be high class manga. I mean seriously, look at the cover. I hated this and loved this at the same time. I had always wanted a zombie manga/book that revolves on teenagers and how they would cope when they're attacked with hardly, if there will be any, adult help. And Highschool of the Dead did just this. It has the right amount of action, character development (although a bit slow), and realistic psychological reactions to certain situations to get you hooked. But this is obviously for the male audience because there is WAY too many ecchi in it. Oh yeah, I expected sex to crop up sometime because hey, they're healthy young people and they might as well do it before they die. It's just that, has it ever occurred to them that they might get one of them pregnant? What will happen then? The pregnant girl will get in the way. And I sincerely doubt our male lead would be the type to abandon her even if it's for the sake of the rest of the team. They could at least use contraceptives but I have seen nothing to imply that. So, too much ecchi. Otherwise, a really good addition to zombie literature.Wait, I almost forgot to add... I LOVE KENDO GIRLS!!!

Cheesy and splatter-tastic. Saw the anime and wanted to read the manga. Easy fun.
