About book Heroínas De La II Guerra Mundial: 26 Historias De Espionaje, Sabotaje, Resistencia Y Rescate (2013)
Great premise but a bit disappointed with the book when I discovered it was written for young adults - the content was too simplistically presented and the writing was too juvenile for my taste. That said, this is a good primer for someone unfamiliar with the role of women in the resistance to the Nazis during WWII and an excellent introduction to 26 amazing women - some of whom I did not know were involved in espionage and resistance work. Discovering that Josephine Baker was a "spy" was surprising and exciting as she was a first in more than just being a prominent African-American singer/dancer. Despite my mild criticism, I will be utilizing in my research for an academic paper. When I bought this book for the kindle I had no idea it was intended for the YA group. I don't usually read that category. However, it worked well for this particular compendium of stories of women who had nerves of steel and put their lives on the line to resist the Nazi movement in Europe. The stories are grouped by country and within that, each woman is put into the perspective of the year and what was occurring in their country at the time. It is also followed up with what each woman, at least the ones who survived, did with their lives later on as well as a wonderful list of bibliography pertinent to each woman. A great resource.

A good introduction to 26 women. Includes titles of biographies about many of them.
