About book Here On Earth: An Argument For Hope (2010)

Very good introduction/refresher to earth science and ecology. Very well-written; easy to read. The content was quite similar to Bill Bryson's "A Short History of Nearly Everything" which is far more entertaining than this book. However, if you're looking for some quick knowledge in an easy to consume package, then this book will do the trick. In fact, I'd recommend reading both. But start with this one. Struggling to review this book without blurting out a spray of realizations about the earth. I picked this book in hope of a ground understanding of what has happened on earth from the conception of life to now. Success. Tim Flannery is a wizard. We seriously need more science communicators that can make earth science as popular as space science. To understand why that is so important you have to read the book.
