One of the things I like about in this book is the fact that our hero is so flawed. He isn't the perfect type like the ones we usually read in romance novels. And despite his flaws, the author managed to make him lovable and endearing to me. Typically, I want super gorgeous and almost perfect heroes in a romance novel but on this one, we have Marcus Sinclair, who's a recluse and had scars because of his horrid accident many years ago.I admire Emma for loving Marcus all these years despite Marcus's physical appearance. I guess that's true love. You see the other person's inner beauty rather than their outer appearance. Though, somewhere along the way, I got frustrated of Marcus because of his reluctance to reunite with Emma. Lol. Oh, well, I know he had reasons but it just frustrates me. One of the best things in this story is the love scene between Emma and Marcus. I think it was beautifully written. ♥ I love the part where they did it in the garden (...?). I read this as part of a bundle of books... Timeless Quills Timeless Collection. Loved it! A scarred/disfigured hero... an insecure, abandoned, unloved, "on the shelf" heroine. What's not to love about this book!! Lots of teasing scenes... (walks in on her bath, has her naked in his bed while attending an injury) but she is innocent, so the gentleman he is, doesn't take advantage, but he wants too... and we want him too... but he's so good. love Marcus!! Enjoy, and happy readingFrankie
