Both really good books, I enjoyed the stories of each of these women through the generations. They are stories of mother/daughter relationships broken and restored by faith and through time and life changing events. Each story was written and detailed so you could really understand the actions and thoughts of every character. I think this is why I enjoy Francine's books so much, she really takes the time to describe her characters well. I really enjoyed reading this series by Francine Rivers. I was surprised by some of the situations that they had to deal with. The author keeps the characters real to life. I didn't give these books five stars because I don't believe they are the best books from this author. If you haven't discovered her, I would like to suggest that you pick up a couple of her older books in addition to her newer releases. Redeeming Love is my favorite, but the Mark of the Lion triology is also excellent.
