What is not to like about a story that revolves around two unlikely people getting locked in a closet overnight? I am a sucker for an 'accidental' shotgun wedding where the H/h are caught in a compromising position and are yet blameless [on this occasion]. It was fun. There were some gloriously bitchy women, some clueless patriarchs and the right two people got together and sorted it out for themselves. Lovely, short and satisfying. Although not deep on any level :-) This is a short but amazing story I started reading and couldn't put it down.Philippa is plain and invisible. The earl has noticed her, but never spook to her during the house party. On christmas eve Philippa has to find a note that her sister has written to the earl. When she is looking for it, she is caught by the earl and they end up locked in a closet. After they are discovered they are forced to marry. The earl has to convince Philippa it's the right thing.The story ends a year later, on the same day, locked in the same closet.
A nice Christmas confection. Tugged at my heart strings in all the right places.
