I'm not sure I would recommend this book. I listened to the audio book and enjoyed most of the story which painted a picture of Helen falling in love with Peter Fagan who was hired as her secretary for a short time. Although Ms. Keller may have been liberal in many ways, I don't think she would have been so reckless with her morality. I might have liked this story more without sensing that the modern world's view of sex was intruding into a more innocent time where chastity was actually a good thing and marriage and commitment usually preceded such intimacies. I did not appreciate the so called "sex" scenes and thought the story could have been told with more taste. I think I would have preferred to read this book. The audio version is read by a young lady sounding like she is making a porn movie. Way to breathy and seriously who wants to listen to Helen Keller having sex? Kind of like listening to your parents talk about their sex lives in a sultry tone, ewwww. Obviously the author made a lot of this up and it is a good idea but hold back on the tone in the audio version is my request.
It was ok at least it has given me an interest into reading Helen's autobiographies.
