This was a really good freebie. Full length and page-turning. There were emotions, enhancements, suspense, action, steaminess, and was written enough to pull me in. I loved the characters and the actual story. I laughed a little, smiled, wanted to knock heads, wanted to put the ka-bam! on the bad guys, got a little worked up, had my brain clicking and clacking, and over all had me turning pages like a windstorm. I would definitely like to read more in this series and see what happens with Chase and Xander especially. This was a steal. Definitely got my read on and ready for more. Enjoy! Wow. New heights of ridiculousness from EC. Good thing there are authors out there telling stories of smart, competent women, so I don't actually have to read this (and Laurann Dohner is downright progressive, in comparison - go, New Species!)The heroine seems to be totally ok with being kept against her will, having her DNA tested and being drugged without her consent. And sentences like the following are a total turn-off: 'You're soaking' he said, sounding awed. 'I can smell and almost see it through your pants.'Yuck.
