I am hooked on books by author, Sophia Knightly. I just love her simple and yet so entertaining way she tells a story. This book, is so far, my favorite by her.The "Hero" is the dashing and reclusive billionaire, Nick Cameron. He has retreated to his island getaway and has no need for friends, especially women. He was betrayed by his ex-wife and ex-best friend. Enters, Ronnie Whitcomb, his former acquaintance that he knew from Summer Camp and his trusted lawyer's step-daughter. Ronnie steams her way into Nick's quiet vacation home and into his life. Heck, she is more forceful, than the hurricane that keeps Nick from throwing Ronnie out of his home. Ronnie has those qualities, many of us women, wish we had. She has confidence in herself and is not afraid to speak her mind. If she sees something she wants, she goes after it, with everything she has. She is loyal and trustworthy and FUN! Of course, Nick can not resist Ronnie's charm and their romance takes off, with a few bumps to include an attempt murder, a jealous young housekeeper, a mystery, and a misunderstanding. Heart Raider is the first book in Sophia Knightly's Heartthrob series. In Heart Raider, TV reporter Veronique Whitcomb is out to redeem her childhood crush, Nick Cameron. Nick is a self made billionaire hiding out from a public scandal. I really enjoyed this story. It had a great mix of romance, humor, mystery, and adventure. The characters are well developed with a great romance. I can't wait for the next one in this series. I would definitely recommend this book.
