About book Have You Seen My New Blue Socks? (2013)

This book was a cute book about a little duck who thinks he lost his new blue socks. I thought this book was rather funny and the best part about it were the illustrations. I loved how they looked like they were done in crayon and used colors that were easy and appealing to the eye. Not only that, but they gave clues as to where the socks might be, which would be fun for children. I thought that this aspect was really engaging and kept the reader on their toes. I also really enjoyed the fact that the duck had interacted with so many different animals throughout the story, giving it a more interesting and dynamic feature. I would recommend this to any child who wants a good laugh and to any parent that wants to teach their child a lesson of responsibility when it comes to keeping your own items safe. Along with cute illustrations of a duck and other animals, this book also rhymes. A poor little duckling has lost his blue socks and asks all his friends, the fox and the ox, if they have seen his new blue socks. Sadly none of them have so the duck goes to the peacocks and asks them. One of them points out that they see something blue in his shoe, and what do you know, he had the socks on already! The pictures for this book are brightly colored and have simple illustrations for young children. The rhyming gives the story its charming nature.
