About book Havah: The Story Of Eve (2008)

At first I wasn't sure I'd like it. While living in Eden, before eating the apple, it was a little weird - weird in a way like the book, The Shack, which I did not like. However, after eating the apple, and after their exile, it got more interesting. I really enjoyed reading about their lives (one possible view of how their lives could have been anyway). I only gave 3 stars because in some cases, the author portrayed Eve in a bratty way. I didn't like the way she behaved at times toward Adam. I read this book for a book club, so I felt had to stick with it. I'm so glad I did. For me the book started slow and I had a difficult time adjusting to, what I consider, flowery language and so much imagination was required. About a quarter of the way through the book, I was hooked and couldn't put the book down. I know the book is fiction, but it gave me an entirely new perspective on what life was probably like for Adam and Eve. I never once considered they had struggles like we do until now. Now, when I think of Eve, she is more than just the first woman created who was instrumental in the downfall of mankind. She is a person who has feelings, who loves, and has compassion, who laughs and cries, and struggles with parenting and marriage.

Love this book! Tosca has such a way of weaving fiction around a true story.

Definitely opened my mind to Eve's POV. I see her as more of a person now.
