In simple drawings Guy Delisle proves that every parent makes mistakes and that's okay. Each little story about a way he's done an odd thing or an ill advised thing as a father brings a smirk and the knowledge that this something that any parent could easily do, current or future at that. If you're up for a laugh (my favourite is of our Quebecois author trying to get his son to use a chainsaw because he's half Canadian and will need to do it sooner or later) and a quick read this is a book for you, whether you're a parent like Guy or the child of one. Klein, leuk boekje (manga-formaat)gevuld met humoristische staaltjes zelf-observatie door papa Guy Delisle. In zijn kenmerkende en doeltreffende simpele stijl serveert hij zijn humor extra dry. Enkele keren was er de herkenning van mijn eigen fouten als vader van 2 spruiten, andere keren kan ik me bijna niet voorstellen dat hij echt zo zwaar over de schreef ging (zoals bijvoorbeeld met de kettingzaag). Niet zo essentieel als zijn sublieme reisverslagen, het is eens 'something completely different', een tof geschenk voor vaderdag.
Très drôle. J'adore le style de Guy Delisle. Par contre, c'est beaucoup trop court!
