About book Graduates In Wonderland: The International Misadventures Of Two (Almost) Adults (2014)

I received a copy of this book through Goodreads First Reads.Firstly, I want to say thank you for sending this book to me. I absolutely loved it. "Graduates in Wonderland" is a memoir comprised of emails written between the two authors over a three-year period. Jessica and Rachel graduate from their university and embark on their own adventures - Jess in Beijing, and Rachel in New York. They vow to write to each other once a week over the next three years.Reading the emails between Jess and Rachel was like reading emails from two of my closest friends. Being in my mid-20s (I'm still not used to saying that.), I could totally relate to the whole moving around, going to different schools, meeting new people, trying to keep old friends close, and just trying to navigate life in general thing. I laughed at parts I could relate to all too well, and also cried reading sections I could relate to all too well. Most of all, I walked away from this story feeling comfort that almost no one has their lives figured out in their 20s, and that's okay because we're going to figure it out. So thank you, Jessica and Rachel, for letting me escape into your world for a while! This book is perfect, especially for best friends who have gone their separate ways after university and are going through the struggle of staying in touch. For me, it made me feel a million times better reading how Rachel and Jess share their very different lives with one another, while still maintaining their incredibly strong friendship. You’ll be able to relate if you’re ever separated from one of your best friends.
