About book Good To A Fault (2008)

Though the story moved very slowly at times, the characters were very well developed and the premise of the story was interesting. A woman, who is divorced and is in a rut with her job and personal life, causes a car accident with a homeless family. She ends up taking care of their children while the mother is in the hospital with cancer. The children change her life. The story wasn't completely realistic, but was thought provoking. Took me a little while to get into this book, bit of a slow burner, but all of a sudden I was hooked and couldn't get enough of this delightful debut. I adored Clara, disliked Mrs Pell, wanted to pinch Trevor's little cheeks, swoop Dolly up in my arms, snuggle my face into Pearces hair and taste the delights of Mrs Zenkos cooking. The characters were wonderful and I truly felt Clara's pain and grief when the children went back with their parents. I think I would have liked a more satisfying ending as it was left up in the air a bit for the reader to draw their own conclusion, but on the whole a wonderful read.
