This novel was reviewed by Booklist about a year ago. I waited until the Kindle Edition was offered. WOW! What a novel twist it has inside the business of the tattoo world. My complements to the author Aric Davis; what an imagination you have. The reading world will expect more & more from you. The reader is able to step into the world of a very nice Tattoo Business and help solve the search for a horrible serial killer as frosting on the cake. Great character development, family dis function, love, friendship, and insight into the contemporary young adult world of today with one evil twist--a serial killer only the dead can identify. READ IT!!! This book was a pleasant surprise. I had no idea what to expect, because I try to avoid blurbs. They always seem to disappoint. The title and the cover were intriguing enough for $1.99.The characters were well developed, although I would have liked to see a more complex villain, psychologically speaking. As a serial killer, he was certainly brutal, but there was little substance. And the brutality was a bit over the top for as little as we knew about the killer.Throughout this novel, I was reminded of Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box. The theme was similar, with the lover who committed suicide helping from beyond the grave, but it felt like a coincidence rather than a copy. I gave 4 stars because I like to have a lot of information about the characters' lives. I want to know their pasts and their secrets and their plans. The author did not deliver there, but it isn't that important. I learned about body art and alteration. Thanks to my trusty friend Google, I saw some pictures of crazy looking weiners, and I learned that some people deliberately remove parts of their genitals. Who knew.I will definitely pick up another work from this author, and I am interested in seeing his future efforts.
Do You like book Good And Useful Hurt, A (2012)?
It was weird, even for me. A bit too far out there, but well written and kept me reading.
