The book is about a boy who is going fishing with is dad and allows his sister to come with. He is not too happy about is sister coming, but deals with it anyways. The story is told from each characters point of view. The book is written in poetry which allows the reader to have a different reading experience than most books. This book would be a great tool in the classroom to teach students about poetry. In the book there is a description of what each type of poem in the book is. This would be good to use to introduce different types of poetry or to reinforce what they already know about poetry. Fun, quick read. I loved all the different poetry forms (and it included my favorite: concrete!), and that she explained different poetry forms as well as poetry elements at the end. A wonderful book to use to teach about poetry. I was able to appreciate the forms and style and all more than my typical non-poetic self because of the explanations as well as the variety. And to still include a good, sweet, and even funny story among it all. Very well done. While I personally enjoyed the "Sister of Glass" 2014-2015 Beehive poetry nominee more, I hope this one wins. It can reach a wider audience and really has a lot to offer. Possibly even more talent needed to include so much!
