About book Gli Sterminati Campi Della Normalità (2011)
The Vast Fields of Ordinary, is an extraordinary book written by Nick Burd. The book tells the story of a seventeen year old boy, Dade Hamilton. Dade is living a rough life. Between his parents getting a divorce, and him struggling to determine his sexuality, he can’t quite live a “normal” life. With college just around the corner, Dade is trying to squeeze by until he can leave Cedarville for good. This book was always surprising me. I was never able to guess what was going to happen next, and I enjoyed reading it very much. My reaction to finding out that Dade is gay was shocked. I was surprised to find out his dad was cheating on his mother, and I was also very confused when Dade explained his feelings for his drug dealer, Alex. While reading this book I experienced many different emotions, and I never knew what was coming next. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read corky and suspenseful book. This was really great. Sad from beginning to end though. Completely saw the very end coming or at least that end for someone. Dade was very naive though. I'm not sure if he was just a teenager or if he was really battling something as big as his mother. I was happy for him and Alex but I'm not a hundred percent sure how believable their relationship would be. Pablo and Dade? Yes. But Pablo, Dade, and Alex? Nah. So confused, very lonely, sometimes a friend can change that. I think despite of the outcome of the story, that was the real message. There's much more to it. Possibly some problems like the characters' relationships, Dade's parents, the missing girl, Lucy( I loved Luce!) and sub characters. There was nothing amazing about this book. It was vastly ordinary and that's what made me enjoy it so much.
