An easy fun read 3 stars Sisters, Cordelia, Olivia and Portia, have grown up in a family with the "knowing". After their parents' deaths, they are all left in the care of their maternal grandmother, who has the "knowing" and is a great cook, and owner of the original Glass Kitchen in a small town in Texas. As their grandmother ages, she realizes that Portia has been "gifted" with the "knowing". The gift brings vivid images of meals, down to the smallest of details, and then going into the kitchen and preparing the meal perfectly.Circumstances lead all three sisters to leave Texas and head to New York City. Although Portia's departure is much more dramatic than that of her sisters.The Knowing leads Portia to a brownstone on the Upper West Side that her great aunt had owned, and the three sisters has visited as children, Portia has wonderful memories of time spent there, she had been left the "basement" story of the brownstone. The upper two stories are owned by Gabriel Kane, powerful man in the world of finance, with daughters Ariel and Miranda. The Kane family has moved from Montclair, NJ after the death of Gabriel's wife, much to the chagrin of his daughters.Portia and Gabriel collide in more ways than one.

I thought this book had a good plot that was well written. It has mystery and a nice love story.
