What an interesting take on this picture and prompt! The author has a wonderful imagination - I loved the magical elements and the whole thing was really well thought out and developed. I also love that this story had a nice, engaging plot and really lovely characters that I immediately cared about. The only thing I want to complain about is the fact that the story came to an end - I loved it and was itching for more! David, the coffee shop owner, knitter and pattern designer, makes a beanie hat for Max, a regular customer who David has developed a crush on. Only David is from a magical family and good luck is woven into the beanie, giving Max whatever he asks for. The gift is too much and after burning the beanie the luck disappears and Max finds himself homeless, so David offers him a place to say. The relationship between the two grows slowly, firstly hampered by Max's distrust of David, but then by David's belief that the magic affects his ability to have a relationship, but the pair work things out to reach a HEA.
